Building WordPress Community Together

As we wrap up the first phase of our 2025 Contributor Day Table Lead Appreciation Campaign, we’re feeling deeply grateful for and inspired by the people who make WordPress possible.

Throughout this first week, The WPCC and our campaign sponsor and founding partner, GoDaddy, celebrated the mentors and leaders who volunteered to guide teams, welcome new contributors, and help the work of WordPress move forward in countless ways.

The leadership and commitment demonstrated by this year’s Contributor Day Table Leads at WordCamp Asia, WordCamp Europe, and WordCamp US is a testament to the truth that open source is sustained not by code, but by care.

Every Contributor Day brings together people from around the world to collaborate across MakeWP teams. It’s a day of shared purpose, where hands-on contribution shapes the future of both the WordPress software and the WordPress community.

Behind the scenes, the contributors who take on the responsibility of Table Leads are at the heart of it all. Whether sponsored or not, Table Leads work before, during, and after the event to plan, guide, and integrate their team’s Contributor Day efforts. This hands-on orientation creates meaningful engagement and since positive early experiences often inspire contributors to return, these interactions directly support the long-term health of the project.

For self-funded contributors, volunteering to lead a table has extra challenges. The practical costs of attending a WordCamp Contributor Day (travel, lodging, and missed work) add up, especially for three-day flagship camps.

We thank all of you for contributing your time, energy, and care to our community. You help make WordPress better.

We also want to recognize and appreciate the hundreds of contributors who showed up to any Contributor Day in 2025, whether one of the three flagship WordCamps, a regional WordCamp, or a virtual Docs team Contributor Day sprint. Your effort, energy, and desire to collaborate make WordPress what it is. You are all living proof that when our community builds together, we can build something better.

Our deep thanks go to GoDaddy, whose dedicated partnership has made this recognition and support possible. GoDaddy’s commitment to contributor well-being and the sustainability of open source continues to strengthen the entire WordPress community. We are grateful to have their support.

Over the next few weeks, The WP Community Collective will continue to highlight and support this year’s Table Leads and Contributor Day volunteers across the various social platforms. We’ll recognize WordCamp Asia Table Leads starting December 1.

For now, we’ll close out with a heartfelt message to every contributor, in-person and online, who showed up this year in any capacity as part of the global WordPress community:

Thank you. 💙
